Echo CS-620P Professional Chain Saw - 59.0 CC - 4.43 HP*
Good chain. Fast shipping. Will order again.
I put this 36" bar on my CS-620P for alaskan saw mill milling, and it allows me to mill up to 30" lumber. I use a skip sequence chain. The 620 cut through 30" elm easily, though 12" hedge is a battle. The bottom line is that it works on a 620. It doesn't use as much oil as my 28" bar so I may need to open up the port on the bar.
Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf Chain Saw - 59.0 CC - 4.02 HP*
I wanted to share my experience purchasing several chainsaws from Saw Suppliers.
My first two purchases were an Echo 590 and a Stihl 261 C-M. Both were great deals and the shipping was fast. I was very happy with those purchases, and I especially like the 261 C-M—it has proven to be a strong, reliable work saw as long as the air filter is kept clean.
Because of that positive experience, I decided to purchase a Stihl 500i R from Saw Suppliers around Christmas last year. Unfortunately, the saw arrived with an issue where the primer bulb would get stuck in. I attempted to contact Saw Suppliers multiple times by phone, they had a message say there team was helping fulfill orders, but was unable to reach anyone. That message remained active for the many times I tried to call. I then sent an email but did not receive a response. I then was hounding Stihl. I spoke to numerous people who said they would escalate, then another person told me they would “re” escalate. Didn’t understand how you re escalate.
Eventually I did receive a reply saying my earlier messages were not received because my email address was supposedly entered one letter incorrectly in their system. However, that explanation was confusing since they were still able to respond to my email. I was also told they typically do not assist customers who did not purchase directly from them, which added to the difficulty in getting help. In the meantime, I tried taking the saw to local Stihl dealers. What I learned is that many dealers are not very willing to help if you did not purchase the saw from them directly. Two separate dealers told me they would charge a $75 diagnostic fee just to look at the saw, even though the issue was simply the primer bulb sticking on a brand-new saw. They also said it would be up to Stihl whether that fee would be reimbursed under warranty.
Ultimately, with Stihl’s assistance, the issue was resolved and I finally received a replacement saw on March 10. However, I had originally paid nearly $2,000 for the saw last year and only now have been able to actually use it.
My experience with Saw Suppliers was excellent when purchasing my first two saws. Their staff was helpful and easy to reach by phone at that time. However, after purchasing the 500i, it became very difficult to contact them, as their phones were shut off and communication was limited to email while they focused on packing orders.
In the end, I am glad the situation was resolved, but it was a long process for a brand-new saw that had a simple defect. I had hoped that after the delays and inconvenience there might have been some gesture of goodwill for the trouble, but ultimately the resolution was simply receiving the replacement saw I had originally purchased months prior.
